حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرِيزٌ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ سُمَيْرٍ الأَلَهَانِيِّ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ وَكَانَ بِجَمْعٍ مِنَ الْمَجَامِعِ فَبَلَغَهُ
أَنَّ أَقْوَامًا يَلْعَبُونَ بِالْكُوبَةِ فَقَامَ غَضْبَانَ يَنْهَى عَنْهَا أَشَدَّ النَّهْيِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَلاَ إِنَّ اللاَّعِبَ بِهَا لَيَأْكُلُ ثَمَرَهَا كَآكِلِ لَحْمِ الْخِنْزِيرِ وَمُتَوَضِّئٍ بِالدَّمِ يَعْنِي بِالْكُوبَةِ النَّرْدَ
Translation

machine translationʿIṣām narrated to us, he said: Ḥarīz narrated to us, from Salmān b. Sumayr al-Alhānī, from Faḍālah b. ʿUbayd, who was at one of the gatherings, and it reached him
✧ Some people were playing with dice (al-kūbah). He stood up angry, forbidding it in the strongest terms. Then he said: "Indeed, the one who plays with it eats its fruit like one who eats pork and performs ablution with blood." By al-kūbah he meant backgammon (al-nard).
