حَدَّثَنَا أَصْبَغُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو أَنَّ بُكَيْرًا حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ أُمَّ عَلْقَمَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ
أَنَّ بَنَاتَ أَخِي عَائِشَةَ اخْتُتِنَّ فَقِيلَ لِعَائِشَةَ أَلاَ نَدْعُو لَهُنَّ مَنْ يُلْهِيهِنَّ؟ قَالَتْ بَلَى فَأَرْسَلْتُ إِلَى عَدِيٍّ فَأَتَاهُنَّ فَمَرَّتْ عَائِشَةُ فِي الْبَيْتِ فَرَأَتْهُ يَتَغَنَّى وَيُحَرِّكُ رَأْسَهُ طَرَبًا وَكَانَ ذَا شَعْرٍ كَثِيرٍ فَقَالَتْ أُفٍّ شَيْطَانٌ أَخْرِجُوهُ أَخْرِجُوهُ
Translation
✧ The daughters of ʿĀʾishah's brother were circumcised, and it was said to ʿĀʾishah, “Should we not call someone to entertain them?” She said, “Yes.” So she sent for ʿAdī, and he came to them. ʿĀʾishah passed by in the house and saw him singing and moving his head in delight, and he had abundant hair. She said, “Uff! A devil! Take him out, take him out!”
