حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْأَزْرَقِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:

مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِجِنَازَةٍ مَعَهَا نِسَاءٌ يَبْكِينَ، فَنَهَاهُنَّ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: دَعْهُنَّ يَا ابْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، فَإِنَّ النَّفْسَ مُصَابَةٌ، وَالْعَيْنَ دَامِعَةٌ، وَالْعَهْدَ قَرِيبٌ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a funeral with women weeping. Umar b. al-Khattab forbade them, but the Prophet ﷺ said: Leave them, O Ibn al-Khattab, for the soul is stricken, the eye sheds tears, and the covenant is recent.
