حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُجَاعُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الدَّالَانِيُّ، عَنْ طَلْقِ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَقْرَبٍ الْأَسَدِيِّ، قَالَ:

أَتَيْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ وَهُوَ عَلَى إِجَّارٍ فَقَعَدْتُ عَلَيْهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: صَدَقَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، صَدَقَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، قَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَبَّأَنَا أَنَّ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فِي النِّصْفِ مِنَ السَّبْعِ الْأَوَاخِرِ، وَإِنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَطْلُعُ صَبِيحَتَهَا لَيْسَ لَهَا شُعَاعٌ، فَصَعِدْتُ فَرَأَيْتُهَا كَذَلِكَ، فَقُلْتُ: صَدَقَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

Translation

✧ I came to Abdullah b. Mas'ud while he was on a rooftop, and I sat with him while he was saying: 'Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth; Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth.' He said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed us that the Night of Qadr is in the middle of the last seven nights, and that the sun rises on its morning without rays.' So I climbed up and saw it like that, and I said: 'Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth.'
