حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَسَدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبَجَلِيُّ، عَنْ كَرِيمِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ

سَلْمَى بِنْتِ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ زَوْجَهَا اسْتُشْهِدَ، فَأَتَتْ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، فَقَالَتْ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، إِنَّ زَوْجِي اسْتُشْهِدَ، وَقَدْ خَطَبَنِي الرِّجَالُ، فَتَرْجُو إِنْ جَمَعَ اللهُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِهِ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، فَقَالَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، مَا رَأَيْنَاكَ صَنَعْتَ هَذَا بِامْرَأَةٍ غَيْرِ هَذِهِ ؟ قَالَ: إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، يَقُولُ: إِنَّ أَوَّلَ أُمَّتِي لُحُوقًا بِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ أَحْمَسَ

Translation

✧ Salma bt. Jabir reported that her husband was martyred. She came to Abdullah b. Mas'ud and said: O Abu Abd al-Rahman, my husband was martyred, and men have proposed to me. Do you hope that if Allah gathers me and him together in Paradise, I will be among his wives? He said: Yes. Some of the people said: O Abu Abd al-Rahman, we have not seen you do this with any woman other than this one. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: The first of my ummah to join me in Paradise will be a woman from Ahmas.
