حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي زِيَادٌ النُّمَيْرِيُّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:
اشْتَكَتِ النَّارُ إِلَى رَبِّهَا، فَقَالَتْ: رَبِّ، أَكَلَ بَعْضِي بَعْضًا، فَجَعَلَ لَهَا نَفَسَيْنِ: نَفَسًا فِي الشِّتَاءِ، وَنَفَسًا فِي الصَّيْفِ، فَشِدَّةُ مَا تَجِدُونَ مِنَ الْحَرِّ حَرُّهَا، وَشِدَّةُ مَا تَجِدُونَ مِنَ الْبَرْدِ مِنْ زَمْهَرِيرِهَا
Translation

✧ The Fire complained to its Lord, saying: My Lord, parts of me have consumed other parts. So He gave it two breaths: a breath in winter and a breath in summer. The intense heat you experience is from its heat, and the intense cold you experience is from its extreme cold.
