حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ قَالَ:

ذَكَرَ عَلِيٌّ أَهْلَ النَّهَرَوَانِ فَقَالَ: فِيهِمْ رَجُلٌ مُودَنُ الْيَدِ، أَوْ مَثْدُونُ الْيَدِ، لَوْلَا أَنْ تَبْطَرُوا لَنَبَّأْتُكُمْ مَا وَعَدَ اللهُ الَّذِينَ يَقْتُلُونَهُمْ عَلَى لِسَانِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: آنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ ؟ قَالَ: إِي وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ

Translation

✧ Ali mentioned the people of Nahrawan and said: "Among them is a man with a defective hand, or a deformed hand. Were it not that you would become arrogant, I would inform you of what Allah promised those who kill them on the tongue of Muhammad ﷺ." He said: I said: "Did you hear it from him?" He said: "Yes, by the Lord of the Kaaba."
