✧ When wine was forbidden, he said: I was serving eleven men that day. He said: They ordered me, so I overturned it, and the people overturned their vessels with their contents until the streets were almost blocked by its smell. Anas said: Their wine that day was nothing but unripe dates and dried dates mixed together. He said: A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: I had the wealth of an orphan, and I bought wine with it. Will you permit me to sell it and return the orphan's wealth? He said: The Prophet ﷺ said: May Allah fight the Jews; fat was forbidden to them, but they sold it and consumed its price. And he did not grant him permission to sell the wine.
