✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Zuhr in Madinah as four rak'ahs, and prayed 'Asr at Dhu al-Hulayfah as two rak'ahs. He spent the night there until morning. When he had prayed Subh, he mounted his riding camel. When his mount set off with him, he glorified Allah and proclaimed His greatness until it brought him to a level place at al-Bayda'. Then he combined them. When we arrived in Makkah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded them to exit ihram. On the Day of Tarwiyah, they entered ihram for Hajj. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ slaughtered seven camels with his own hand while they were standing, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sacrificed two horned, white sheep.

machine translationThe narration of Abū Qilābah from Anas, that he heard them calling out the talbiyah for both of them together, is more firmly established than the narration of those who reported from him that the Prophet ﷺ combined Hajj and ʿUmrah.
in مسند أبي يعلى الموصلي, p. 2821 - Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. al-Ḥusayn al-Bayhaqī
machine translationSulaymān b. Ḥarb objected that Qatādah and other memorizers (ḥuffāẓ) narrated it from Anas in the same way, so the disagreement concerns Anas himself. He said: Perhaps he heard the Prophet ﷺ teaching someone else how to declare the intention for Qirān (combining ḥajj and ʿumrah), and so he thought that he was declaring it for himself.
