حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ مُكْرَمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ رُسْتُمَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ:
خَرَجْنَا مَعَهُ إِلَى الْحَرَمِ، فَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ، فَقَالَ: أَلَا تَنْزِلُوا نُصَلِّي ؟ فَقُلْتُ: لَوْ تَقَدَّمْتَ إِلَى هَذَا الْمَسْجِدِ، فَقَالَ: أَيُّ مَسْجِدٍ ؟ قِيلَ: مَسْجِدُ بَنِي فُلَانٍ، فَفَزِعَ، وَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ ﷺ: يَأْتِي عَلَى أُمَّتِي زَمَانٌ يَتَبَاهَوْنَ بِالْمَسَاجِدِ وَلَا يَعْمُرُونَهَا إِلَّا قَلِيلًا

✧ We went out with him to the sanctuary, and when prayer time came, he said: 'Will you not dismount and pray?' I said: 'If only you would go forward to this mosque.' He said: 'Which mosque?' It was said: 'The mosque of Banu so-and-so.' He became alarmed and said: 'I heard him say ﷺ: A time will come upon my community when they will vie with one another in [building] mosques but will not frequent them except a little.'
