حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:
جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَعْرَابِيٌّ، فَقَالَ: أَبْصَرْتُ الْهِلَالَ اللَّيْلَةَ، قَالَ: تَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: قُمْ يَا بِلَالُ، فَنَادِ فِي النَّاسِ، فَلْيَصُومُوا غَدًا

✧ A Bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'I sighted the crescent moon tonight.' He said: 'Do you bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and His messenger?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Arise, O Bilal, and announce among the people that they should fast tomorrow.'
