✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ did not recite to the jinn, nor did he see them. The Messenger of God ﷺ set out with a group of his companions heading to the market of Ukaz. The devils had been barred from the news of heaven, and meteors were sent against them. The devils returned to their people, who said: "What is wrong with you?" They said: "We have been barred from the news of heaven, and meteors were sent against us." He said: "This is only because of something that has happened. So strike the eastern and western parts of the earth." The group that had taken the direction of Tihamah passed by him at Nakhlah, while he was heading to the market of Ukaz and praying the dawn prayer with his companions. When they heard the Quran, they listened to it and said: "This is what has barred us from the news of heaven." They returned to their people and said: "O our people, we have heard a wondrous Quran that guides to rectitude, so we believed in it." Then God revealed to His Prophet: "Say: It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened" [Q 72:1].
