حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ:
إِذَا دَخَلَ قَبْرَهُ - يَعْنِي الْمَيِّتَ - فَجَاءَهُ الْمَلَكُ، قَامَ يَهُبُّ كَمَا يَهُبُّ النَّائِمُ، فَيَسْأَلَانِهِ فَيُجِيبُهُمْ، فَيَقُولَانِ: مَا دِينُكَ ؟ فَيَقُولُ: الْإِسْلَامُ، دَعُونِي حَتَّى أَخْرُجَ، فَيَقُولَانِ لَهُ اسْكُتْ

✧ When he enters his grave—meaning the deceased—and the angel comes to him, he starts up as a sleeper starts up. Then they ask him and he answers them. They say: 'What is your religion?' He says: 'Islam.' 'Let me go out.' They say to him: 'Be still.'
