حَدَّثَنَا كَامِلٌ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

عُرِضَ عَلَيَّ الْأَنْبِيَاءُ جَمِيعًا، فَإِذَا مُوسَى ضَرْبٌ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ كَأَنَّهُ مِنْ رِجَالِ شَنُوءَةَ، وَرَأَيْتُ عِيسَى فَإِذَا أَقْرَبُ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ بِهِ شَبَهًا عُرْوَةُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، وَرَأَيْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فَإِذَا أَقْرَبُ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ بِهِ شَبَهًا صَاحِبُكُمْ، يَعْنِي نَفْسَهُ، وَرَأَيْتُ جِبْرِيلَ فَأَقْرَبُ مَنْ رَأَيْتُ بِهِ شَبَهًا دِحْيَةُ

Translation

✧ All the prophets were presented to me. Moses was a man of medium build, as if he were one of the men of Shanu'a. I saw Jesus, and the closest person I have seen resembling him is Urwa b. Mas'ud. I saw Abraham, and the closest person I have seen resembling him is your companion — meaning himself. I saw Gabriel, and the closest person I have seen resembling him is Dihya.
