✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ sent me, and I went off. Then I returned after I had accomplished it. I came to the Prophet ﷺ and greeted him, but he did not return my greeting. Something came into my mind that God knows best. He said: I said: Perhaps the Messenger of God ﷺ was upset with me because I was slow. I greeted him, but he did not return my greeting. Something came into my mind more severe than the first time. Then I greeted him, and he returned my greeting and said: Nothing prevented me from returning your greeting except that I was praying, and he was on his mount facing a direction other than the qibla.
