✧ I asked Abu Salamah, 'Which part of the Qur'an was revealed first?' He said, 'O you wrapped in garments.' I said, 'Or Recite.' Jabir said, 'I will tell you what the Messenger of God ﷺ told us. He said: I stayed in Hira' for a month. When I finished my stay, I descended and entered the valley. I was called, so I looked in front of me, behind me, to my right and to my left, and saw no one. Then I was called again, and I looked and saw no one. Then I was called again, and I looked and saw no one. I raised my head, and there he was on the throne in the air, meaning Gabriel. A severe trembling seized me. I came to Khadijah and said, 'Wrap me up.' They wrapped me up and poured water over me. Then God revealed: O you wrapped in garments, arise and warn, and your Lord magnify, and your garments purify.'
