حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسٌ عَنْ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ عَنْ زَاذَانَ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ قَالَ
قَرَأْتُ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ أَنَّ بَرَكَةَ الطَّعَامِ الْوُضُوءُ قَبْلَهُ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ بَرَكَةُ الطَّعَامِ الْوُضُوءُ قَبْلَهُ وَالْوُضُوءُ بَعْدَهُ
Translation

I read in the Torah that the blessing of food consists in ablution before it. So I mentioned it to the Prophet ﷺ. He said: The blessing of food consists in ablution before it and ablution after it. Sufyan disapproved of performing ablution before taking food. Abu Dawud said: It is weak.

عن مهنا قال سألت أحمد عن حديث قيس بن الربيع عن أبي هاشم عن زاذان عن سلمان فذكر الحديث فقال لي أبو عبد الله هو منكر فقلت ما حدث هذا إلا قيس بن الربيع قال لا وسألت يحيى بن معين وذكرت له حديث قيس بن الربيع فقال لي يحيى بن معين ما أحسن الوضوء قبل الطعام وبعده فقلت له بلغني عن سفيان الثوري أنه كان يكره الوضوء قبل الطعام قال مهنا سألت أحمد قلت بلغني عن يحيى بن سعيد أنه قال كان سفيان يكره غسل اليد عند الطعام قلت لم كره سفيان ذلك قال لأنه من زي العجم وضعف أحمد حديث قيس بن الربيع
