✧ The gift of a Muslim to a disbeliever and his bequest to him

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ:
بَاعَتْ صَفِيَّةُ زَوْجُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ دَارًا لَهَا مِنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بِمِائَةِ أَلْفٍ، فَقَالَتْ لِذِي قَرَابَةٍ لَهَا مِنَ الْيَهُودِ، وَقَالَتْ لَهُ: " أَسْلِمْ؛ فَإِنَّكَ إِنْ أَسْلَمْتَ وَرِثْتَنِي ! " فَأَبَى، فَأَوْصَتْ لَهُ. قَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ: بِثَلَاثِينَ أَلْفًا
Translation
✧ Safiyya, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, sold a house of hers to Mu'awiya for one hundred thousand. She said to a Jewish relative of hers: "Embrace Islam, for if you embrace Islam, you will inherit from me!" But he refused, so she bequeathed to him. Some of them said: Thirty thousand.
