✧ The people of two religions do not inherit from each other

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ يَذْكُرُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ الْأَشْعَثِ أَخْبَرَهُ

أَنَّ عَمَّةً لَهُ يَهُودِيَّةً تُوُفِّيَتْ بِالْيَمَنِ، وَأَنَّ الْأَشْعَثَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ ذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: لَا يَرِثُهَا إِلَّا أَهْلُ دِينِهَا

Translation

✧ A paternal aunt of his who was Jewish died in Yemen, and al-Ash'ath b. Qays mentioned that to Umar b. al-Khattab, so Umar said: 'No one inherits from her except the people of her religion.'
