✧ The first sword in the path of Allah

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ:
أَنَّ أَوَّلَ رَجُلٍ سَلَّ سَيْفًا فِي اللهِ الزُّبَيْرُ، نُفِخَتْ نَفْخَةٌ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ: أُخِذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَالنَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِأَعْلَى مَكَّةَ، فَخَرَجَ الزُّبَيْرُ يَشُقُّ النَّاسَ بِسَيْفِهِ، فَلَقِيَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهُ: مَا لَكَ يَا زُبَيْرُ ؟ " قَالَ: أُخْبِرْتُ أَنَّكَ أُخِذْتَ قَالَ: فَدَعَا لَهُ وَلِسَيْفِهِ
Translation
✧ The first man to draw a sword in Allah['s cause] was al-Zubayr. A blast from Satan was blown: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has been seized'—while the Prophet ﷺ was in the upper part of Makkah. Al-Zubayr went out cutting through the people with his sword and met the Prophet ﷺ, who said to him: 'What is the matter with you, O Zubayr?' He said: 'I was told that you had been seized.' He said: 'So he supplicated for him and for his sword.'
