✧ The merit of jihad

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
لَوْلَا أَنَّ رِجَالًا مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ لَا تَطِيبُ أَنْفُسُهُمْ أَنْ يَتَخَلَّفُوا عَنِّي، وَلَا أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ، مَا خَرَجَتْ سَرِيَّةٌ تَغْزُو فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ إِلَّا وَأَنَا مَعَهُمْ، وَاللهِ لَوَدِدْتُ أَنْ أُقْتَلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، ثُمَّ أُحْيَى، ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ، ثُمَّ أُحْيَى، ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ
Translation
✧ Were it not that some of the believers would be unwilling to stay behind me, and I do not find what I can mount them on, no expedition would go out raiding in the path of God without me being with them. By God, I would love to be killed in the path of God, then brought back to life, then killed, then brought back to life, then killed.
