✧ Misappropriation of booty

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ بُدَيْلٍ الْعُقَيْلِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ:
أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ بِوَادِي الْقُرَى وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ عَلَى فَرَسِهِ، وَجَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بُلْقِينٍ وَقَالَ: اسْتُشْهِدَ غُلَامُكَ " أَوْ قَالَ: " مَوْلَاكَ فُلَانٌ " قَالَ: " بَلْ هُوَ الْآنَ يُجَرُّ إِلَى النَّارِ فِي عَبَاءَةٍ غَلَّهَا اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ
Translation
✧ Someone who heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed me while he was in Wadi al-Qura, standing on his horse, and a man from Bulqin came to him and said: “Your slave has been martyred” or he said: “Your client so-and-so.” He said: “Rather, he is now being dragged to the Fire in a cloak he misappropriated from Allah and His Messenger.”
