عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ الْجَنَدِيِّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ زُبَيْبٍ الْجَنَدِيُّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
يَا أَبَا الْوَلِيدِ يَا عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ إِذَا رَأَيْتَ الصَّدَقَةَ كُتِمَتْ، وَقَلَّتْ وَاسْتُؤْجِرَ فِي الْغَزْوِ، وَعُمِّرَ الْخَرَابُ، وَخُرِّبَ الْعَامِرُ، وَالرَّجُلُ يَتَمَرَّسُ بَأَمَانَتِهِ كَمَا يَتَمَرَّسُ الْبَعِيرُ بِالشَّجَرِ، فَإِنَّكَ وَالسَّاعَةَ كَهَاتَيْنِ، وَأَشَارَ بِإِصْبَعَيْهِ السَّبَّابَةِ وَالَّتِي تَلِيهَا
Translation
✧ O Abu al-Walid, O Ubadah b. al-Samit, when you see charity being concealed and becoming scarce, and people being hired for military expeditions, and ruins being inhabited and inhabited places being ruined, and a man becoming accustomed to betraying his trust as a camel becomes accustomed to rubbing against trees, then you and the Hour are like these two—and he pointed with his index finger and the one next to it.
