أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ:
نص إضافينص إضافيبَلَغَهُ أَنَّ عَلِيًّا كَانَ لَا يَأْكُلُ لَحْمَ الْجِرِّيثِ، وَلَا يَدْخُلُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ صُورَةٌ، وَلَا يَأْكُلُ الطِّحَالَ قَالَ: أَمَّا الطِّحَالُ، فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَذَرَهُ، وَلَمْ يَأْكُلْهُ، وَقَالَ: إِنَّمَا هُوَ مَجْمَعُ الدَّمِ فَكَانَ عَلِيٌّ لَا يَأْكُلُهُ، وَأَمَّا بَيْتٌ فِيهِ صُورَةٌ فَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ " كَانَ لَا يَدْخُلُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ صُورَةٌ، وَأَمَّا الْجِرِّيثُ، فَإِنَّهُ حُوتٌ لَا يَأْكُلُهُ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ
Translation
✧ It reached him that ʿAlī used not to eat the flesh of al-jirrīth (a type of fish), nor enter a house containing an image, nor eat the spleen. He said: As for the spleen, the Messenger of God ﷺ found it repulsive and did not eat it, and said: It is merely a congealed lump of blood; so ʿAlī did not eat it. As for a house containing an image, the Prophet ﷺ would not enter a house containing an image. As for al-jirrīth, it is a fish that the People of the Book do not eat.
