عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنِ الْأَجْلَحِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْهُذَيْلِ قَالَ:
كَتَبَ مَعِي أَهْلُ الْكُوفَةِ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَلَمَّا جِئْتُهُ كَفَانِي النَّاسُ مَسْأَلَتَهُ، فَجَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ مَمْلُوكٌ، فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا عَبَّاسٍ أَنَا أَرْمِي الصَّيْدَ فَأُصْمِي، وَأُنْمِي، فَقَالَ: مَا أَصْمَيْتَ فَكُلْ، وَمَا تَوَارَى عَنْكَ لَيْلَةً فَلَا تَأْكُلْ، وَإِنِّي لَا أَدْرِي أَنْتَ قَتَلْتَهُ أَمْ غَيْرُكَ "، قَالَ: فَإِنِّي رَجُلٌ مَمْلُوكٌ يَمُرُّ بِي الْمَارُّ فَيَسْتَسْقِينِي مِنَ اللَّبَنِ فَأَسْقِيهِ، قَالَ: " إِنْ خِفْتَ أَنْ يَمُوتَ مِنَ الْعَطَشِ، فَاسْقِهِ مَا يُبَلِّغُهُ غَيْرَكَ، ثُمَّ اسْتَأْذِنْ أَهْلَكَ مَا سَقَيْتَهُ "، قَالَ: ثُمَّ إِنِّي أَجِدُ الْبَحْرَ قَدْ جَفَلَ سَمَكًا قَالَ: " فَلَا تَأْكُلْ مِنْهُ طَافِيًا
Translation
✧ The people of Kufa wrote with me to Ibn Abbas. When I came to him, people saved me from asking him, for a slave man came to him and said: O Abu Abbas, I shoot game, and I kill it outright, and I track it after wounding. He said: "What you kill outright, eat; but what disappears from you for a night, do not eat, for I do not know whether you killed it or someone else." He said: I am a slave; a passerby comes to me and asks me for milk to drink, and I give it to him. He said: "If you fear that he will die of thirst, give him enough to reach someone other than you, then ask your master's permission for what you gave." He said: Then I find the sea has cast up fish. He said: "Do not eat any of it that floats."
