عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو شَيْبَانَ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي شَيْخٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ يُقَالُ لَهُ ابْنُ هُرْمُزَ قَالَ:
وَطِئْتُ عَلَى عُشٍّ مِنْ حَمَامِ مَكَّةَ، وَأَنَا بِمَكَّةَ فِيهِ فَرُّوخٌ قَدْ رِيشَ، وَبَيْضَةٌ، فَقَتَلْتُ الْفَرْخَ، وَكَسَرْتُ الْبَيْضَةَ، فَسَأَلْتُ عَطَاءً، فَقَالَ: عَنْ مَيْتٍ شَاةٌ وَلَكِنْ إِيتِ تِلْكَ الْحَلْقَةَ، فَإِنَّ فِيهَا شَيْخًا، وَهُوَ عُبَيْدُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ، فَسَلْهُ فَإِنْ أَخْبَرَكَ بِشَيْءٍ فَارْجِعْ إِلَيَّ فَأَخْبِرْنِي، فَسَأَلْتُ عُبَيْدًا، فَقَالَ: " أَمَّا الْفَرْخُ الَّذِي قَدْ رِيشَ فَفِيهِ شَاةٌ، وَأَمَّا الْبَيْضَةُ فَفِيهَا نِصْفُ دِرْهَمٍ "، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: مَا أَصْنَعُ ؟ قَالَ: " اذْبَحِ الشَّاةَ، وَاشْتَرِ بِنِصْفِ دِرْهَمٍ طَعَامًا فَاطْحَنْهُ، وَانْظُرْ مَنْ يَلِيكَ مِنَ الْفُقَرَاءِ فَأَطْعِمْهُمْ، فَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ غُرَبَاءَ أَوْ بِكُمْ حَاجَةٌ فَأَمْسِكُوا مِنْهُ "، فَمَرَرْتُ بِعَطَاءٍ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ، فَقَالَ: هَكَذَا أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ
Translation
✧ I stepped on a nest of Makkah pigeons while I was in Makkah, containing feathered chicks and an egg, and I killed the chick and broke the egg. I asked Ata, and he said: 'For the dead one, a sheep, but go to that circle, for in it is a shaykh, and he is Ubayd b. Umayr, and ask him; if he tells you anything, come back to me and inform me.' So I asked Ubayd, and he said: 'As for the chick that has feathers, for it is a sheep; and as for the egg, for it is half a dirham.' I said to him, 'What should I do?' He said: 'Slaughter the sheep, and buy food with half a dirham, grind it, and look to the poor near you and feed them; and if you are strangers or in need, then keep some of it.' Then I passed by Ata and informed him, and he said: 'Thus Ibn Abbas informed me.'
