عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ أَنَّ إِنْسَانًا مِنْ أَهْلِ هَذِهِ الْمِيَاهِ نَذَرَ جِوَارًا - سَمَّيْتُ لَهُ الظَّهْرَانَ، وَعُسْفَانَ - فِي مَسْجِدِهِمْ ؟ قَالَ: " يَقْضِيهِ إِذَا جَعَلَهُ عَلَيْهِ فِي ذَلِكَ الْمَسْجِدِ، قُلْتُ: نَذَرَ جِوَارًا فِي مَسْجِدِ مِنًى ؟ قَالَ: " فَلْيُجَاوِرْ فِيهِ، فَإِنَّ لَهُ شَأْنًا "، قُلْتُ: أَيَجْعَلُ بِنَاءَهُ، ثَمَّ بِمِنًى فِي الدَّارِ ؟ قَالَ: " لَا، مِنْ أَجْلِ عَتَبِ الْبَابِ " قُلْتُ: فَفِي مَسْجِدِنَا إِذًا مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ: " لَا إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ الْعَتَبُ لِلدَّارِ، وَلَيْسَ كَهَيْئَةِ مَسْجِدِنَا هَذَا "، ثُمَّ قَالَ بَعْدُ: " لَا جِوَارَ إِلَّا فِي مَسْجِدِ مَكَّةَ، وَمَسْجِدِ الْمَدِينَةِ "، قَالَ: " وَإِنَّ أَهْلَ الْبَصْرَةِ لَيُجَاوِرُونَ فِي مَسْجِدِهِمْ حَتَّى إِنَّ أَحَدَهُمْ لَيُجَاوِرُ مَسْجِدَهُ فِي بَيْتِهِ
Translation

machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Ibn Jurayj, who said:
✧ I said to 'Ata': What do you think if a person from the people of these waters vowed a retreat—I named for him al-Zahran and 'Usfan—in their mosque? He said: "He fulfills it if he made it binding upon himself in that mosque." I said: He vowed a retreat in the mosque of Mina? He said: "Then let him retreat in it, for it has a special status." I said: May he set up his structure there at Mina in the house? He said: "No, because of the threshold of the door." I said: Then in our mosque likewise? He said: "No, that threshold belongs to the house, and it is not like the form of this mosque of ours." Then he said afterwards: "There is no retreat except in the mosque of Makkah and the mosque of Madinah." He said: "And the people of al-Basra retreat in their mosque until one of them retreats in the mosque of his own house."
