✧ Fasting on the Day of Arafah

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ حَرْمَلَةَ بْنِ إِيَاسٍ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ،
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنْ صِيَامِ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ ؟ فَقَالَ: كَفَّارَةُ سَنَتَيْنِ: سَنَةٍ مَاضِيَةٍ، وَسَنَةٍ مُسْتَأْخَرَةٍ
Translation
✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ was asked about fasting on the Day of Arafah, and he said: 'It is an expiation of two years: the past year and the coming year.'
