عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ:
تَذَاكَرْنَا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ، فَأَتَيْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ - وَكَانَ لِي صَدِيقًا - فَقُلْتُ: أَلَا تَخْرُجُ بِنَا إِلَى النَّخْلِ ؟ قَالَ: بَلَى. قَالَ: فَخَرَجَ، وَعَلَيْهِ خَمِيصَةٌ لَهُ قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: أَسَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَذْكُرُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمِ، اعْتَكَفْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْعَشْرَ الْأَوْسَطَ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ، فَخَرَجْنَا صَبِيحَةَ عِشْرِينَ "، قَالَ: فَخَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ، فَأُنْسِيتُهَا، فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ فِي وِتْرٍ، وَرَأَيْتُ أَنِّي أَسْجُدُ فِي مَاءٍ وَطِينٍ، فَمَنِ اعْتَكَفَ مَعِي فَلْيَرْجِعْ إِلَى مُعْتَكَفِهِ "، قَالَ: فَرَجَعْنَا، وَمَا فِي السَّمَاءِ قَزَعَةٌ فَجَاءَتْ سَحَابَةٌ فَمُطِرْنَا حَتَّى سَالَ سَقْفُ الْمَسْجِدِ، وَكَانَ مِنْ جَرِيدِ النَّخْلِ، وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ، فَرَأَيْتُ عَلَى أَرْنَبَةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ انْصَرَفَ أَثَرَ الطِّينِ فِي جَبْهَتِهِ، وَأَرْنَبَتِهِ، يَعْنِي لَيْلَةَ إِحْدَى وَعِشْرِينَ
Translation
✧ We discussed Laylat al-Qadr among a group of Quraysh. I went to Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who was a friend of mine, and said, 'Will you come out with us to the palm groves?' He said, 'Yes.' He came out wearing a cloak of his. I said to him, 'Did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mention Laylat al-Qadr?' He said, 'Yes. We observed i'tikaf with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the middle ten days of the month of Ramadan, and we came out on the morning of the twentieth.' He said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us and said: I saw Laylat al-Qadr, then I was made to forget it. So seek it in the last ten days, on an odd night. And I saw myself prostrating in water and mud. Whoever observed i'tikaf with me, let him return to his place of i'tikaf.' He said, 'We returned, and there was not a cloud in the sky. Then a cloud came and we were rained upon until the roof of the mosque leaked, and it was made of palm branches. The prayer was established, and when he finished, I saw the trace of mud on the forehead and nose of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, meaning the night of the twenty-first.'
