✧ The Night of Decree

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هَارُونَ الْعَبْدِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ:
اعْتَكَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْعَشْرَ الْأُوَلَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: إِنَّ الَّذِي تَطْلُبُ أَمَامَكَ، فَاعْتَكَفَ الْعَشْرَ الْأَوْسَطَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: إِنَّ الَّذِي تَطْلُبُ أَمَامَكَ، فَاعْتَكَفَ الْعَشْرَ الْأَوَاخِرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " الْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ فِي وِتْرٍ، يَعْنِي لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ
Translation
✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ observed i'tikaf during the first ten days of Ramadan. It was said to him: "What you are seeking is ahead of you." So he observed i'tikaf during the middle ten days of Ramadan. It was said to him: "What you are seeking is ahead of you." So he observed i'tikaf during the last ten days. Then the Prophet ﷺ said: "Seek it in the last ten, in an odd-numbered night," meaning the Night of Decree.
