✧ Rinsing the mouth for the fasting person

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:

سَأَلْتُ عَطَاءً عَنِ الْمَضْمَضَةِ، لِلصَّائِمِ لِغَيْرِ الصَّلَاةِ؟ فَقَالَ: مَا أَكْرَهُهُ إِلَّا لِقَوْلِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ: سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: خُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ

Translation

✧ I asked 'Ata' about rinsing the mouth for a fasting person other than for prayer, and he said: I only dislike it because of the saying of Abu Hurayra: I heard him say: The bad breath of a fasting person is sweeter to Allah than the fragrance of musk.
