✧ When is the child commanded to fast?

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبَّادٍ الدَّبَرِيُّ قَالَ: قَرَأْنَا عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ بْنِ هَمَّامٍ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ قَالَ:
يُؤْمَرُ الصَّبِيُّ بِالصَّلَاةِ إِذَا عَرَفَ يَمِينَهُ مِنْ شِمَالِهِ، وَبِالصَّوْمِ إِذَا أَطَاقَهُ
Translation
✧ The child is commanded to pray when he knows his right from his left, and to fast when he is able to.
