✧ Zakat on Trade Goods

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: كَانَ عَطَاءٌ يَقُولُ:

لَا زَكَاةَ فِي عَرَضٍ لَا يُدَارُ إِلَّا الذَّهَبَ وَالْفِضَّةَ، فَإِنَّهُ إِذَا كَانَ تِبْرًا مَوْضُوعًا - وَإِنْ كَانَ لَا يُدَارُ - زُكِّيَ

Translation

✧ There is no zakāh on goods that are not circulated except gold and silver, for if it is unworked nuggets lying idle—even if not circulated—it is subject to zakāh.
