✧ How the guardian should handle the orphan's wealth

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ:
سُئِلَ الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِ الْيَتِيمِ كَيْفَ يُصْنَعُ ؟ قَالَ: " كُلُّ ذَلِكَ كَانَ يُفْعَلُ، مِنْهُمْ مَنْ كَانَ يَسْتَسْلِفُهُ فَيُحْرِزُهُ مِنَ الْهَلَاكِ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ كَانَ يَقُولُ: إِنَّمَا هِيَ وَدِيعَةٌ فَلَا أَتْرُكُهَا حَتَّى أُؤَدِّيَهَا إِلَى صَاحِبِهَا، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ كَانَ يَأْخُذُهَا مُقَارَضَةً، وَكُلُّ ذَلِكَ إِلَى النِّيَّةِ
Translation
Chain of narrators
machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Maʿmar, he said:
✧ Al-Zuhri was asked about the orphan's wealth, how it should be handled. He said: "All of that used to be done. Some would borrow it to safeguard it from ruin. Others would say: 'It is a trust, so I will not leave it until I return it to its owner.' Others would take it as a qirad (profit-sharing investment). All of that depends on the intention."
