عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، وَمَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ نِسْطَاسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ:

إِذَا اتَّبَعَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْجِنَازَةَ، فَلْيَأْخُذْ بِجَوَانِبِهَا كُلِّهَا، فَإِنَّهُ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ، ثُمَّ لْيَتَطَوَّعْ بَعْدُ أَوْ يَتْرُكْ "

Translation

✧ When one of you follows a funeral, let him take hold of all its sides, for that is from the Sunnah; then after that let him volunteer or leave off.
