✧ Making the grave well

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ قَالَ:
بَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ جَالِسٌ عَلَى قَبْرِ ابْنِهِ؛ إِذْ رَأَى فُرْجَةً، فَقَالَ لِلْحَفَّارِ: ائْتِنِي بِمَدَرَةٍ لِأَسُدَّهَا، أَمَا إِنَّهَا لَا تَضُرُّ وَلَا تَنْفَعُ، وَلَكِنْ يَقِرُّ بِعَيْنِ الْحَيِّ
Translation
✧ While the Messenger of God ﷺ was sitting on the grave of his son, he saw a gap and said to the gravedigger: "Bring me a clod of mud to fill it. Indeed, it neither harms nor benefits, but it pleases the eye of the living."
