✧ Recitation and supplication in the prayer over the deceased

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ حُدِّثْتُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، وَأَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، وَأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ:
أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَقْرَءُونَ بِأُمِّ الْقُرْآنِ، وَيَدْعُونَ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ بَعْدَ كُلِّ تَكْبِيرَةٍ مِنَ الثَّلَاثِ، ثُمَّ يُكَبِّرُونَ الرَّابِعَةَ فَيَنْصَرِفُونَ وَلَا يَقْرَءُونَ
Translation
✧ They used to recite the Opening of the Book, supplicate, and seek forgiveness after each of the three takbirs, then make the fourth takbir and depart without reciting.
