✧ Recitation and supplication in the prayer over the deceased

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ:
كَانَ لَا يَقْرَأُ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنَ التَّكْبِيرَاتِ، وَكَانَ يَقُولُ: " اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ، وَالْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ، وَأَلِّفْ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِهِمْ، وَاجْعَلْ قُلُوبَهُمْ عَلَى قُلُوبِ أَخْيَارِهِمُ، اللَّهُمَّ ارْفَعْ دَرَجَتَهُ فِي الْمُهْتَدِينَ، وَاخْلُفْهُ فِي تَرِكَتِهِ فِي الْغَابِرِينَ، اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَحْرِمْنَا أَجْرَهُ وَلَا تُضِلَّنَا بَعْدَهُ
Translation
✧ He would not recite anything in any of the takbirs, and he would say: 'O Allah, forgive the believing men and the believing women, and the Muslim men and the Muslim women, and bring their hearts together, and make their hearts follow the hearts of their best ones. O Allah, raise his degree among the rightly guided, and be his successor among those left behind regarding his inheritance. O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward and do not lead us astray after him.'
