✧ The takbir over the funeral

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ قَالَ:

كَانُوا يُكَبِّرُونَ فِي زَمَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ سَبْعًا وَخَمْسًا وَأَرْبَعًا، حَتَّى كَانَ زَمَنُ عُمَرَ فَجَمَعَهُمْ فَسَأَلَهُمْ فَأَخْبَرَهُمْ كُلُّ رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ بِمَا رَأَى، فَجَمَعَهُمْ عَلَى أَرْبَعِ تَكْبِيرَاتٍ كَأَطْوَلِ الصَّلَاةِ، يَعْنِي الظُّهْرَ

Translation

✧ They used to say seven, five, and four takbirs in the time of the Prophet ﷺ, until the time of ʿUmar. He gathered them and asked them, and each man among them informed him of what he had seen, so he united them upon four takbirs, like the longest prayer—that is, ẓuhr.
