عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ:
قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ لِثَوْبَيْهِ اللَّذَيْنِ كَانَ يُمَرَّضُ فِيهِمَا: اغْسِلُوهُمَا وَكَفِّنُونِي فِيهِمَا، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: " أَلَا نَشْتَرِي لَكَ جَدِيدًا قَالَ: لَا إِنَّ الْحَيَّ أَحْوَجُ إِلَى الْجَدِيدِ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ
Translation
✧ Abu Bakr said about his two garments in which he was being nursed: 'Wash them and shroud me in them.' Aisha said: 'Should we not buy new ones for you?' He said: 'No, the living are more in need of new things than the dead.'
