عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ جَابِرٍ قَالَ:

لَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ الْأَشْعَثُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ: إِذَا غَسَّلْتُمُوهُ فَلَا تُهَيِّجُوهُ حَتَّى تَأْتُونِي بِهِ، فَلَمَّا فُرِغَ مِنْ غُسْلِهِ أُتِيَ بِهِ، فَدَعَا بِكَافُورٍ فَوَضَّأَهُ بِهِ، وَجَعَلَ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ، وَفِي يَدَيْهِ وَرَأْسِهِ وَرِجْلَيْهِ "، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " أَدْرِجُوهُ

Translation

✧ When al-Ash‘ath b. Qays died, al-Hasan b. ‘Alī said: When you have washed him, do not disturb him until you bring him to me. When his washing was finished, he was brought to him, and he called for camphor and performed ablution on him with it, and put some on his face, and in his hands, head, and feet. Then he said: "Wrap him."
