عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلِ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ،
أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ لَمَّا حَضَرَتْهَا الْوَفَاةُ أَمَرَتْ عَلِيًّا فَوَضَعَ لَهَا غُسْلًا فَاغْتَسَلَتْ وَتَطَهَّرَتْ، وَدَعَتْ ثِيَابَ أَكْفَانِهَا، فَأُتِيَتْ بِثِيَابٍ غِلَاظٍ فَلَبِسَتْهَا وَمَسَّتْ مِنَ الْحَنُوطِ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَتْ عَلِيًّا أَنْ لَا تُكْشَفَ إِذَا قَضَتْ، وَأَنْ تُدْرَجَ كَمَا هِيَ فِي ثِيَابِهَا " قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: " هَلْ عَلِمْتَ أَحَدًا فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ ؟ " قَالَ: نَعَمْ، كَثِيرُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ، وَكَتَبَ فِي أَطْرَافِ أَكْفَانِهِ: شَهِدَ كَثِيرُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ.
Translation
✧ When death approached Fatimah, she told 'Ali to prepare water for her. She washed and purified herself, and called for her shroud garments. Thick garments were brought to her, and she wore them and applied some hanut. Then she told 'Ali not to uncover her when she died, and to wrap her as she was in her garments. He said: I said to him: 'Do you know anyone who did that?' He said: 'Yes, Kathir b. 'Abbas, and he wrote on the edges of his shrouds: Kathir b. 'Abbas bears witness that there is no god but Allah.'
