عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَبَانَ، عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ:
لَقِّنُوا أَمْوَاتَكُمْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ فَإِنَّهَا تَهْدِمُ الْخَطَايَا فَقِيلَ لَهُ: كَيْفَ الْحَيُّ ؟ قَالَ: " هِيَ أَهْدَمُ وَأَهْدَمُ
Translation
✧ Prompt your dead with 'There is no god but God,' for it demolishes sins. It was said to him: 'How about the living?' He said: 'It is more demolishing, and more demolishing.'
