أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ
مَاتَ رَجُلٌ فَجَاءَتْهُ مَلَائِكَةُ الْعَذَابِ فَقَعَدُوا عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ، فَقَالَ: لَا سَبِيلَ لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِ، قَدْ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ لِي سُورَةَ الْمُلْكِ، فَجَلَسُوا عِنْدَ رِجْلَيْهِ فَقَالَ: لَا سَبِيلَ لَكُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُومُ عَلَيْنَا يَقْرَأُ سُورَةَ الْمُلْكِ، فَجَلَسُوا عِنْدَ بَطْنِهِ، فَقَالَ: لَا سَبِيلَ لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِ إِنَّهُ أَوْعَى فِيَّ سُورَةَ الْمُلْكِ، فَسُمِّيَتِ الْمَانِعَةَ
Translation
✧ A man died and the angels of punishment came and sat at his head. It (his head) said: You have no way against him; he used to recite Surat al-Mulk for me. Then they sat at his feet, and they said: You have no way against him; he used to stand upon us reciting Surat al-Mulk. Then they sat at his belly, and it said: You have no way against him; he contained Surat al-Mulk within me. So it was named al-Mani'ah (the Protector).
