عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي لَبِيدٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ،

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بَعَثَ قَوْمًا وَأَمَّرَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَصْغَرَهُمْ، فَذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّهُ أَكْثَرُكُمْ قُرْآنًا، وَإِنَّمَا مَثَلُ صَاحِبِ الْقُرْآنِ كَجِرَابٍ فِيهِ مِسْكٌ، إِنْ فَتَحْتَهُ أَوْ فُتِحَ فَاحَ رِيحُهُ، وَإِنْ أُوكِيَ أُوكِيَ عَلَى طِيبٍ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ sent a group and appointed the youngest of them as their leader. They mentioned that, so he said: He has the most Quran among you. The example of the companion of the Quran is like a leather bag containing musk: if you open it—or it is opened—its fragrance spreads, and if it is tied shut, it is tied over something fragrant.
