عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّجُودِ، عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ قَالَ: قَالَ أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ:
كَأَيِّنْ تَقْرَءُونَ سُورَةَ الْأَحْزَابِ ؟ " قَالَ: قُلْتُ: بِضْعًا وَثَمَانِينَ آيَةً قَالَ: لَقَدْ كُنَّا نَقْرَأُهَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نَحْوَ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ أَوْ هِيَ أَكْثَرُ، وَلَقَدْ كُنَّا نَقْرَأُ فِيهَا آيَةَ الرَّجْمِ: " الشَّيْخُ وَالشَّيْخَةُ فَارْجُمُوهُمَا أَلْبَتَّةَ نَكَالًا مِنَ اللهِ وَاللهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
Translation
✧ "How many verses do you recite from Surah al-Ahzab?" I said: "Eighty-some verses." He said: "We used to recite it with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as long as Surah al-Baqarah or longer, and we used to recite in it the verse of stoning: 'The old man and the old woman, stone them absolutely as a punishment from Allah, and Allah is Mighty, Wise.'"
