✧ Keeping watch over the Quran and forgetting it

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
مَثَلُ الْقُرْآنِ إِذَا عَاهَدَ عَلَيْهِ صَاحِبُهُ يَقْرَؤُهُ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ كَمَثَلِ رَجُلٍ لَهُ إِبِلٌ، فَإِنْ عَقَلَهَا حَفِظَهَا، وَإِنْ أَطْلَقَ عُقُلَهَا ذَهَبَتْ، وَكَذَلِكَ صَاحِبُ الْقُرْآنِ
Translation
✧ The likeness of the Quran when its companion keeps watch over it, reciting it night and day, is that of a man who has camels: if he hobbles them, he keeps them; if he releases their hobbles, they go away. And so it is with the companion of the Quran.
