أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْهَمَذَانِيِّ قَالَ:
كُنْتُ مَعَ عَلِيٍّ يَوْمَ النَّهَرَوَانِ، فَقَالَ: " الْتَمِسُوا ذَا الثُّدَيَّةِ، فَالْتَمَسُوهُ فَجَعَلُوا لَا يَجِدُونَهُ، فَجَعَلَ يَعْرَقُ جَبِينُ عَلِيٍّ، وَيَقُولُ: " وَاللهِ مَا كَذَبْتُ وَلَا كُذِبْتُ فَالْتَمِسُوهُ " قَالَ: فَوَجَدْنَاهُ فِي سَاقِيَةٍ - أَوْ جَدْوَلٍ - تَحْتَ قَتْلَى، فَأُتِيَ بِهِ عَلِيٌّ فَخَرَّ سَاجِدًا
Translation
✧ I was with Ali on the day of al-Nahrawan, and he said: "Search for Dhu al-Thudayya." They searched for him but could not find him. Ali's forehead began to sweat, and he said: "By Allah, I have not lied, nor have I been told a lie. Search for him." He said: Then we found him in a water channel—or a stream—under the slain. He was brought to Ali, and he fell down in prostration.
