✧ The one who has passed coming out while the khutbah is being given with a stick in his hand

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ:

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا خَطَبَ يَسْتَنِدُ إِلَى جِذْعِ نَخْلَةٍ مِنْ سَوَارِي الْمَسْجِدِ، فَلَمَّا صُنِعَ الْمِنْبَرُ فَاسْتَوَى عَلَيْهِ اضْطَرَبَ تِلْكَ السَّارِيَةُ كَحَنِينِ النَّاقَةِ، حَتَّى سَمِعَهَا أَهْلُ الْمَسْجِدِ، حَتَّى نَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، فَاعْتَنَقَهَا فَسَكَتَتْ

Translation

✧ When the Prophet ﷺ would deliver a sermon, he would lean on a palm trunk among the pillars of the mosque. When the minbar was made for him and he stood upon it, that pillar trembled like the moaning of a she-camel, until the people of the mosque heard it, until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ descended and embraced it, and it became still.
