عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ،
أَرْسَلَ إِلَى ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ أَوَّلَ مَا بُويِعَ: أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ يُؤَذَّنُ لِلصَّلَاةِ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ فَلَا تُؤَذِّنْ لَهَا قَالَ: " فَلَمْ يُؤَذِّنْ لَهَا ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ يَوْمَئِذٍ، وَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ مَعَ ذَلِكَ: " إِنَّمَا الْخُطْبَةُ بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ، وَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ قَدْ كَانَ يُفْعَلُ " قَالَ: فَصَلَّى ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ قَبْلَ الْخُطْبَةِ، فَسَأَلَهُ أَصْحَابُهُ، ابْنُ صَفْوَانَ وَأَصْحَابٌ لَهُ قَالُوا: هَلَّا آذَنْتَنَا ؟ فَاتَتْهُمُ الصَّلَاةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ، فَلَمَّا سَاءَ الَّذِي بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ لَمْ يَعُدِ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ لِأَمْرِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
Translation
✧ He sent word to Ibn al-Zubayr when he was first given allegiance: 'No call to prayer used to be given for the prayer on the day of Fitr, so do not call it.' He said: 'So Ibn al-Zubayr did not call it that day, and he sent word to him along with that: "The sermon is only after the prayer, and that used to be done."' He said: 'So Ibn al-Zubayr prayed before the sermon. Then his companions asked him—Ibn Safwan and companions of his—they said, "Why did you not call us? The prayer passed them by that day." Then when relations between him and Ibn Abbas soured, Ibn al-Zubayr did not return to Ibn Abbas's instruction.'
